Origins Insect and Mite Spray provides protection for upto 6 weeks for rabbits, guinea pigs and rodents.
Mites can cause skin irritation, itchiness, powdery and flaky deposits and sometimes scabs. A severe infestation can result in other health issues such as anemia and immune system issues. When treating for external parasites it is important to also treat the environment (e.g. cages and enclosures, huts, logs) to prevent re-infestation and kill any mites that may be hiding in these areas.
Origins Insect & Mite Spray uses active ingredient -
- Permethrin is an insecticide and repellent used to control external parasites
- Piperonyl Butoxide is a compound that reduces the parasites ability to detoxifying the pesticides
- Methoprene is a insect-growth regulator used to break the lifecycle of external parasite
Effective treatment involves spraying the animal and gently rub or massage in the coat. This provides full coverage for the best result.
- Spray directly onto the coat of the animal approximately 30-40cm away.
- Gently rub into the fur to penetrate the skin.
- Focus on areas such as hears, neck and the underside where these animals can be affected the most.
- Spray the enclosure and all items inside for the best result
- The number of sprays depends on the animals size, 1 spray for a mouse and upto 10 sprays for a rabbit.
