Choke chains are very common in dog training for obedience and re-training unwanted behaviours such as pulling. Mel's Pet Shed recommends using these with care as they can cause damage to the dogs throat and neck. Never leave choke chains on when being unsupervised, if caught in fencing or even the garden can result in injury or worse.
